How the swap works
-
Type the BTC amount and paste your Stellar payout address on Stellar mainnet.
-
Press Exchange to open the live quote and the deposit address for this order.
-
Broadcast BTC to that deposit. After the required confirmations, XLM is sent to your wallet.
Check these before you send
- A single network confirmation is typically enough to start the payout.
- How long BTC takes to confirm tracks mempool load and the fee on your send.
- SegWit deposit addresses keep fees lower. If your wallet cannot send to SegWit, contact support before you broadcast.
- If XLM has not appeared yet, wait a few minutes and refresh the wallet. When the order already shows a payout tx, contact support with your order ID.
Bitcoin — the base layer of crypto
Since 2009 Bitcoin has been the reference asset — deep liquidity, wide recognition, and the usual starting point for cross-chain routes.
BTC deposit checklist
- Confirm your wallet can send to SegWit (bc1…) addresses.
- Leave enough for a network fee — low fees mean slower confirmation.
- Broadcast only BTC on Bitcoin mainnet to the deposit shown on your order.
How long does a BTC deposit take?
Block times vary with network load and your chosen fee.
- Use mempool.space or similar tools to check whether your fee is competitive.
- Explorers show queue position — compare against pending transaction volume.
- Average block interval is ~10 minutes, but longer gaps happen.
Why traders move BTC to other chains
Bitcoin offers deep liquidity and wide recognition — many swaps start with BTC as the funding asset.
Moving into Ethereum, stablecoins, or alt L1s lets you access DeFi, payments, or portfolio diversification without a custodial account.
Stellar — fast payments network
XLM (Stellar Lumens) powers the Stellar network — built for low-cost cross-border transfers and tokenized assets.
XLM not visible yet?
Resync your Stellar wallet. If the order shows a sent transaction, verify the address and memo match your wallet.
When will XLM arrive?
Stellar settlements are usually very quick once your deposit confirms.
- Check Stellar Expert or a similar explorer with the payout tx hash.
- Confirm whether your wallet needs a destination memo for incoming funds.
- Keep a small XLM reserve if your wallet requires a minimum balance.

Frequently asked questions
Does BTC to XLM require KYC or an account?
No. PeakSwap does not ask for a profile, ID documents, or a hosted balance for Bitcoin to Stellar.
How long until XLM arrives?
Many orders finish in a few minutes. Bitcoin mainnet deposit confirmations and Stellar mainnet payout time set the wait.
Do you hold BTC or XLM for me?
No. You send BTC from a wallet you control and XLM is paid to the address you provide — PeakSwap does not keep a user wallet.
What if I send BTC on the wrong chain?
Use Bitcoin mainnet exactly as shown on the order. A wrong-network send may not be credited — read the swap safety notes first.
