How the swap works
-
Type the BTC amount and paste your Tether payout address on ERC-20 on Ethereum.
-
Press Exchange to open the live quote and the deposit address for this order.
-
Broadcast BTC to that deposit. After the required confirmations, USDT is sent to your wallet.
Check these before you send
- A single network confirmation is typically enough to start the payout.
- How long BTC takes to confirm tracks mempool load and the fee on your send.
- SegWit deposit addresses keep fees lower. If your wallet cannot send to SegWit, contact support before you broadcast.
- If USDT has not appeared yet, wait a few minutes and refresh the wallet. When the order already shows a payout tx, contact support with your order ID.
Bitcoin β the base layer of crypto
Since 2009 Bitcoin has been the reference asset β deep liquidity, wide recognition, and the usual starting point for cross-chain routes.
BTC deposit checklist
- Confirm your wallet can send to SegWit (bc1β¦) addresses.
- Leave enough for a network fee β low fees mean slower confirmation.
- Broadcast only BTC on Bitcoin mainnet to the deposit shown on your order.
How long does a BTC deposit take?
Block times vary with network load and your chosen fee.
- Use mempool.space or similar tools to check whether your fee is competitive.
- Explorers show queue position β compare against pending transaction volume.
- Average block interval is ~10 minutes, but longer gaps happen.
Why traders move BTC to other chains
Bitcoin offers deep liquidity and wide recognition β many swaps start with BTC as the funding asset.
Moving into Ethereum, stablecoins, or alt L1s lets you access DeFi, payments, or portfolio diversification without a custodial account.
Tether β USD-pegged stablecoin
USDT on Ethereum (ERC-20) is widely used in DeFi β send only on Ethereum mainnet.
Receiving ERC-20 USDT
Set your wallet to Ethereum mainnet with the USDT token visible.

Frequently asked questions
Does BTC to USDT require KYC or an account?
No. PeakSwap does not ask for a profile, ID documents, or a hosted balance for Bitcoin to Tether.
How long until USDT arrives?
Many orders finish in a few minutes. Bitcoin mainnet deposit confirmations and ERC-20 on Ethereum payout time set the wait.
Do you hold BTC or USDT for me?
No. You send BTC from a wallet you control and USDT is paid to the address you provide β PeakSwap does not keep a user wallet.
What if I send BTC on the wrong chain?
Use Bitcoin mainnet exactly as shown on the order. A wrong-network send may not be credited β read the swap safety notes first.
